By car
Situated in north-west Switzerland, Vallée de Joux (canton of Vaud) is easy of access by car via the Swiss road network.
The canton of Vaud is criss-crossed by motorway A1, which links Austria to France. The motorway exits of Cossonay, Aubonne, Gland and Nyon as well as the Essert Pittet junction let you easily join the three mountain passes around Vallée de Joux. Over the Col du Mont d’Orzeires (1060m), Mollendruz (1180m) or Marchairuz (1449m) you pounce on Vallée de Joux and its charming villages around the lake.
From the International Airport of Geneva-Cointrin, it only takes you 60 minutes to get to Vallée de Joux. From Lausanne, the capital of the canton of Vaud, it takes 45 minutes and from Bern around 90 minutes.
In Switzerland you need a road tax vignette to drive on the motorways. It costs CHF 40.- and is valid until the end of January the following year. It can be had in post offices and petrol stations.
