Le Pont-Le Brassus Train
From the villages of Le Pont and Le Brassus, the northern shores of Lac de Joux can be discovered by electric train or steam engine: a twenty-five minutes’ ride away from the road through a natural and untouched landscape.
A 14 km long railway line connects the villages of Le Pont and Le Brassus in the Jura part of the Lake Geneva Region (canton of Vaud). It runs along the northern shore of Lac de Joux through spruce forests, marshland and pastureland, and covers Les Charbonnières and Le Lieu as well. The electric train runs every hour all year round, connecting Vallée de Joux with Vallorbe and its TGV (high-speed train) station. The steam engine, which is maintained by an association of enthusiasts, runs a few times in summer between Le Pont and Le Brassus.
