Watch making initiation center
Watchmaking enthusiasts from all over the world hasten themselves to share “the pure watchmaking passion” for a day or two together with Mr. Oliver Piguet, watchmaker from Vallée de Joux.
The aim of this activity is to disassemble and reassemble a mechanical watch – all by yourself – and in that way realize many keen people’s dream: leave with your entirely self-made mechanical “skeleton” watch!
Olivier Piguet receives his visitors in a genuine recreated workshop were he shares his theoretical and practical knowledge of the mechanical watch, and this right in the heart of Vallée de Joux – the jewel of first-class complication watches and watchmaking as a whole.
Founded in 2008 and first of its kind in Switzerland, the Watchmaking introduction centre is open to everybody: From the ardent connoisseur or professional watchmaker and jeweller to the inexperienced and curious novice.
This initiation is given on weekdays or at weekends and consists of various modules. In order to guarantee optimal learning quality, the course is held for two participants at a time.
