Watch museum
Espace horloger in Sentier presents current productions by the main watchmaking companies in Vallée de Joux, the cradle of grande complication watches.
The farmers-watchmakers in this rough region of Vallée de Joux have produced watches and measuring instruments for centuries. They specialize in complication movements. The objects exhibited in the hall of watchmaking history in Vallée de Joux let you discover the beginnings of watchmaking in this region.
Longitude watches, chronographs, tourbillon rattrapantes, quantiemes perpetuels, minute repeaters: all these beautiful watchmaking examples have contributed to the reputation of watchmakers in Vallée de Joux.
In the Heritage Hall, Espace horloger also presents a collection of watches from Franche-Comté from the 16th to the 19th century, put back into working order by students of the technical college for future watchmakers, and, on the first floor, a collection of ancient and foreign clocks and curios, such as the saw watch, the coach watch, and the skeleton watch, complete with a calendar and a bell.
