Le sujet de ces "Conversations en Italie" se trouve dans des carnets de croquis réalisés en Italie au fil des années.

Les oeuvres présentées lors de cette exposition ne sont pas les carnets eux-mêmes, mais plutôt les peintures réalisées en atelier, au retour des voyages.

Le travail tend à rendre compte, non plus de la réalité vécue que le croquis s'efforçait de saisir, mais du souvenir métamorphosé par la mémoire.
