Chemin Col du Mollendruz–Vernant - 970
Starting from Col du Mollendruz, the link between the Lake Geneva basin and Lake Joux, this walking route offers spectacular views of the plain and the Alps. With its figure-of-eight configuration, you can opt to walk all or half of the route.
At the gateway to the Vallée de Joux, the Vernand walking trail starts from the Col du Mollendruz, taking you across meadows for 2 km and through a pine forest opening up to a spectacular view of the plains, Lake Geneva and the Alps. You return along a forest path, through the Pré Magnin pastures to the Col du Mollendruz.
Due to its variety and accessibility, this trail is ideal for families or people wanting to discover the wide-open spaces of the Parc Jura Vaudois. Along the way, you’ll come across lots of mountain pasture chalets making various cheeses according to traditional methods, including Gruyère d’alpage AOP, giving you a chance to savour local products in the region’s restaurants. Option to shorten the loop by forking off after Pré de Joux and returning to Pré Magnin and back to the Col (a total of 4km).
