Distillerie de Gentiane, eau-de-vie from the Vallée de Joux
The Distillerie du Risoux, located in Les Charbonnières, was founded in 1992 by Dominique and Doris Bonny-Honegger.
With the acquisition of 2 stills VD 15 and VD 85 from the Auberge du Mollendruz, the premises of Epinettes 2 were transformed into a distillery, while maintaining a tinplate-roofing activity.
Thanks to the knowledge of the former distiller, Mr André Simond, and to an ad hoc training at the Changins School, Dominique Bonny, master tinsmith and former member of parliament, is thus perpetuating a local know-how with the registered trademark "Gentiane de la Vallée de Joux 45%" and its blue label created by the painter Pierre Cotting.
Annual production reaches several hectolitres of eau de vie. The Missile sol-air, a liqueur based on gentian and fir bud syrup, has been honoured by the jury on several occasions.
The slogan "Gentian in Bonny, it takes the edge off the spirit" and your visit to the distillery will allow you to discover this exceptional product which is the Vallée de Joux gentian brandy.
The book "Gentian at the heart of our roots" created on the occasion of the nomination of "Les Charbonnières European gentian village", this book will allow you to discover and share 2 centuries of gentian history in the Vallée de Joux.
