The alpine refreshment chalet Le Chalottet is situated above the village of Les Charbonnières in a unique setting.
The Chalottet, a typical old mountain chalet in Vallée de Joux, makes cheese and gives gourmet visitors in search of authenticity a warm welcome. Managed as a family business, the owners welcome their guests simply and cordially from the beginning of May to the end of October.
In the typical setting of the Chalottet chalet, the Favre family welcomes its guests in an authentic and warm atmosphere. The parents, Edy and Anni, renovated the chalet and launched the production of their cheese called "Bôfavre," which is made in the old way over a log fire. Their daughter Stephanie manages the restaurant and her brother Sylvain supplies the restaurant with meat products.
Offering a capacity of some 80 seats, the bar was created in 2009 in the old stables of the chalet. The cheese production has been maintained so that guests can enjoy the many home-made dishes offered from May to October, either indoors or on the terrace. Music entertainment is also organised during the season, while the donkeys and rabbits around the chalet delight everyone on the premises.
