Guided tour of a watchmaker farm, a building typical of the region, which bears witness to the early days of local watchmaking
At his watchmaker farm in Derrière-la-Côte, which houses the Centre d'Initiation à l'Horlogerie, Olivier Piguet welcomes small groups for guided tours that include the following:
- An overview of the "Ferme horlogère" at Derrière-la-Côte 12, the history of the origins of the farmer-watchmakers, and a presentation of the Centre d’Initiation à l’Horlogerie, including the conversion of the old barn into a watchmaking workshop.
- A history of watchmaking covering materials, movements, movement-cutting techniques, wheels and springs, and the so-called "skeleton" finish.
