The Grandes Roches cross-country skiing area is one of the major Nordic sectors of the Vallée de Joux. It notably hosted the cross-country skiing competitions during the Winter Youth Olympic Games 2020, highlighting the quality of its terrain and facilities.
Located in the heart of the Risoud Forest, the site offers an extensive network of trails set entirely within a preserved natural environment. Skiers can design their routes freely according to their level and preferences, in both classic and skating styles.
Along the trails, several emblematic woodcutter huts, such as Appollo and La Racine, are accessible on skis and serve as popular landmarks for a break in the forest.
